Wade Marshall Wins PBR Canada Touring Pro Division Event in Lacombe, Alberta

LACOMBE, Alta. – Saturday night in Lacome, Alberta, Wade Marshall (Invercargill, New Zealand) rode supreme, delivering the high-marked ride of the PBR (Professional Bull Riders) Canada Touring Pro Division event to win the Lacombe Pro Bull Riding.

Despite being bested in Round 1, tossed by Day N Night (Shay Marks) in 3.87 seconds, Marshall made the most of his renewed shot of victory, advancing to the championship round on time.

The New Zealander next took on Smooth Sailor (Shay Marks) in the final round. In what proved to be a perfect pairing, Marshall reached the requisite 8 with ease, awarded an event-best 87 points to clinch the victory.

Marshall earned a crucial 46 national points for the golden finish. In the race for the 2024 PBR Canada Championship and accompanying $100,000 bonus, Marshall rose from No. 28 to No. 22 in Canada.

Toby Adams (Mendooran, New South Wales, Australia) parlayed an 86.5-point ride on Lord Fear (Vold Rodeo) into a second-place finish.

Collecting 33 national points, Adams climbed from unranked to No. 34 in Canada.

Third was Dixon Tattrie (Youngstown, Alberta, Canada).

Tattrie rode Hanan Motors Broken Halo (Skori Bucking Bulls) for 85.5 points to net 22 national points. He climbed two positions in the Canadian standings, rising from No. 22 to No. 20.

Reigning PBR Canada National Finals event winner Tyler Craig (Crossfield, Alberta) was fourth. His 85-point ride atop Whiskey Clouds (Skori Bucking Bulls) earned him 18 national points.

Chasing his first PBR Canada Championship this November, Craig cracked the Top 10 in the standings, rising from No. 11 to No. 10. He now trails No. 1 Cody Coverchuk (Meadow Lake, Saskatchewan) by 650.84 points.

Rounding out the Top 5 in fifth was Coy Robbins (Camrose, Alberta).

The 2017 PBR Canada Rookie of the Year’s efforts in Lacombe were highlighted by his Round 1 winning, 83-point ride on Day Thuggin (Shay Marks). Robbins earned 21 national points at his home province event. He remained No. 16 in Canada.

In the bull pen, Broken Pearl (Kinky Buckers) bucked supreme, crowned the Bull of the Event. Bucking in the championship round, the powerful animal athlete logged an unrivaled 43.5-point score for his 4.31 seconds of work against Wyatt Gleeson (Sundre, Alberta).

The 2024 PBR Canada season continues Thursday, August 8 with the Touring Pro Division’s Tofield Western Days in Tofield, Alberta. Action at the Tofield Fairgrounds begins at 7:00 p.m. MT.
