Jared Parsonage Wins Opening Night of Cody Snyder’s Charity Bullbustin’ in Calgary, Alberta

CALGARY, Alta. – As the Cody Snyder Charity Bullbustin’ got underway Tuesday evening in Calgary, Alberta, Jared Parsonage (Maple Creek, Saskatchewan) was dominant, winning the first night of the PBR (Professional Bull Riders) Canada Touring Pro Division event at Grey Eagle Resort and Casino, cracking the Top 10 in the national standings.

Parsonage took on Ain’t About Fame (Thompson Rodeo Livestock). In what proved to be a perfect pairing, Parsonage made the request 8 for an event-best 88 points.

Compliments of the golden finish, Parsonage netted a crucial 38 national points in the race for the 2024 PBR Canada Championship. He rose from No. 11 to No. 9 in the standings, inching within 638.34 points of No. 1 Cody Coverchuk (Meadow Lake, Saskatchewan).

The score not only cemented Parsonage the event win, but also clinched Ain’t About Fame the Bull of the Event honors as he was marked an unrivaled 43 points.

Coverchuk failed to grow his lead in the race for his record tying third national title Tuesday evening. He was bested by Built Tough (Thompson Rodeo Livestock) in 3.03 seconds.

Dixon Tattrie (Youngstown, Alberta) was second.

Tattrie’s 85-point ride on Uncorked (Vold Rodeo) earned him 28 national points. He rose from No. 25 to No. 20 in the Canadian standings.

Courtesy of an 83-point score atop Twist Of Something (Thompson Rodeo Livestock), Garrett Green (Meeting Creek, Alberta) was third, collecting 18 national points.

Green, who is chasing his first PBR Canada Championship this November, gained one position in the national standings, climbing from No. 13 to No. 12. He is now 676.5 points back of No. 1 Coverchuk.

As the only other rider to convert Tuesday evening at the Grey Eagle Resort and Casino, Wyatt Rogers (Hulbert, Oklahoma) was fourth.

Marking his first qualified ride in just his second event on Canadian soil, Rogers, who rides for the Kansas City Outlaws in the separate PBR Teams league, topped Sicario (Two Bit Bucking Bulls) for 80 points.

Rogers earned 15 national points. He rose from unranked to No. 37 in Canada.

The 2024 PBR Canada seasons continues July 3-6 in Calgary, Alberta. Action for the Touring Pro Division’s Cody Snyder Charity Bullbustin’ at Grey Eagle Resort and Casino gets underway nightly at 7:00pm MDT.
