SASKATOON, Sask. – Night number two of Saskatoon!

What an opening night we had. I called it before we began that we were going to see a record-setting night and I think we did that. Sixteen qualified rides, and all were really solid rides.

One of the better bull ridings that I have seen up here in a very long time. And look for the same thing tonight. The riders got to draft their bulls for Round 2 and that seems to always help with the confidence and we should see lots of rides again.

Still anybody’s game and look for a great night two. Jordan Hansen, Aaron Roy, Dawson Shannon, Gilmar Santana are all standouts that I think are going to have some phenomenal rides, but these are the ones that standout the most.

Dakota Buttar vs. High Voltage

A rematch from last weekend in Medicine Hat. Dakota rode this bull for an 85-point ride, look for the exact same thing here. This is a bull that Dakota loves, fits his style perfectly. Should be popping and blowing, around to the left. Could have a better trip than he did in Medicine Hat, we could push that 86-87-point mark here. Look for Dakota to do here what he did last night and set himself up great for the short round and look for a win in Saskatoon.

Nick Tetz vs. Ain’t About Fame

Tetz has been rolling right through the season, did it last night and look for the same thing again tonight on Ain’t About Fame. This bull, Tetz keeps picking him whenever he gets these draft opportunities. Most guys do not pick this bull. He’s not one that’s east by any means, not very rider friendly, but Nick and him have a history and he likes to pick this bull. I think he likes to do that to prove that he can ride one that a lot of guys don’t ride. We saw Jared Parsonage ride this bull for a big score at the Grey Eagle bull riding this year. Bull has a few different trips to him, could go left, could go right. Tetz has got confidence in this, and when they do ride this bull it’s 87-88 points. So look for that here tonight for Tetz.

 John Crimber vs. Sin Wagon

John Crimber showed up last night and showed us what John Crimber does with a great ride in the long round on a big scary Canadian bull and then backs it up with a phenomenal ride away from his hand in the 5/5 Bucking Battle. Kid looks unstoppable. The bull that he’s got, once again a really solid bull. We see him in the short round. He was at the Canadian Finals Rodeo a few weekends ago. He really bucks. In the gate to the left. Look for John to post that 90-point marking on this bull tonight. I think this is going to be a phenomenal matchup and could be the round win.

Trace Redd vs. Destination Unknown

Traced showed up and showed out last night. He is just coming back from injury that took him out most of the season last season. The kid looks determined. He looks like he wants to prove to everybody the potential that he has, and he showed that last night. He rode two bulls that a lot of guys don’t get along with. Both bulls hard to ride, but Trace stuck it all over them. He looks to be in tip-top shape, ready to come back strong for the Unleash The Beats season. The bull that he’s got in Destination Unknown is a big, grey, flat-horned bull from Nansen Vold. We saw Ashton Sahli win a round at the Canadian Finals Rodeo not long ago on this bull. That was the first time that I saw this bull, but man did he look good. Right in the gate to the right, up and down, kind of hesitating, has some movement to him. Should fit Trace’s style really well. We could see an 87-88-point ride here as well.

Colten Fritzlan vs. Superstition

Another guy coming back from injury after injury, two broken femurs to be exact which would probably end a lot of guys’ careers. But it just seemed to push Fritzlan ahead. He just wants to prove what he can do, show his full potential and he’s been riding like the house has been on fire the last few months. Last night he made one look super easy, that was not easy, and look for him to do that again tonight on Superstition. He’s a big white bull, really up and down, should be around to the right. This bull has been around for a long time. One that guys don’t overly get along with. He’s got a little bit to him, more than he looks to. But look for Fritzlan to sit up and ride this bull either way. Same thing, an 87-88-point ride here.

Tanner Eno vs. Lil’ Hooch

Great to see Tanner Eno back in the form that we all know that he has. He was dealing with some injuries back and forth throughout the season. Came back in Medicine Hat and looks like the Tanner Eno of old. He has his confidence back, is riding very, very strong. It doesn’t matter which way they are going, he’s getting his mind in the middle and staying on whatever he’s getting on. Great matchup here with Lil’ Hooch. This bull should be popping and spinning around to the right. One that all the guys like to get on. Look for Tanner to follow up his ride from last night with another 85-point ride tonight to set himself up good for the championship round and try to get a win here in Saskatoon and bump himself into the Canada Finals where he belongs.
