The Morning Line – Lethbridge Round 2

LETHBRIDGE, Alta. – After a great first night of action, we’re looking for a lot of the same tonight in Round 2.

A lot of great matchups, a lot of rides we’re going to see. Some great honorable mentions, Jared Parsonage. Aaron Roy, Chanse Switzer, that they should have success on.

But these are the Top 6 that stood out to me.

Garrett Green vs. Smooth Off

Garrett Green is a guy that starts out the season really, really strong. He loves Lethbridge. He’s won it before, and he’s got a great bull in Smooth Off to do it again. This bull is a yellow bull of Shay Marks’. He’s going to be right in the door to the right, sucking back underneath himself. Perfect match for Garrett to sit up there and open up with that outside foot and have some fun. He could be 85-86 points. The hardest part I think Garrett’s going to have with this bull is his attitude. This bull, watch after the whistle blows. He likes to clear the arena and makes for an action-packed event and bull ride every time he is out of the chutes. This is one to keep an eye on, both during the ride and afterwards.

Marshall Senger vs. Broken Pearl

Marshall Senger is a young kid out of northern Saskatchewan. I’ve seen him ride a couple times now, I have been following his career since he was in the junior ranks and this kid is the real deal. He’s going to be a force to be reckoned with in the years to come, and he showed that in Red Deer, his first PBR Canada Cup event. He didn’t let the lights and the action deter him from doing what he does and that’s riding bulls. This is a great bull, Broken Pearl. Jake Gardner just won Red Deer on him. Lots of times he’s in the short round. He looked really good with Jake. Just nice and around to the right, up and down, a lot of timing to him. Look for Marshall to step up to the plate and be 87-88 points on Broken Pearl.

William Barrows vs. Smooth Sailor

William Barrow’s is coming back from a major injury suffered in Kelowna, British Columbia, last year where he broke his femur. That’s a tough task for anyone to come back from, let alone a young guy like William. But William’s tough, and he’s been through a lot of injuries throughout his career, and it never seems to send him off track. He always comes back stronger than ever and he’s a kid that I’ve been watching for a long time and has all the talent in the world to ride anywhere he wants to. And this is a matchup for him that I think he’s really going to like. A lot of the guys don’t get along with this bull. He’s a big grey, high-horned, scary looking sucker that has a lot of attitude and means it. But that’s kind of what William thrives on in my opinion. This bull is going to spin either way. Look for William to sit up there and ride him and do some cowboy stuff on the back of him and be 88 points.

Jordan Hansen vs. Lil’ Hooch

This is a bull that’s always in the picks. Little black bull from Two Bit Bucking Bulls. Really blows in the air, should be right in the gate to the right. A lot of the times if he gets jammed up in the chutes, he could come out backwards and turn to the left. But either way that he does it, Jordan is going to sit up there, sit in the middle of him, and ride him all day long for an 85-86-point ride.

Weston Davidson vs. High & Low

This is a rematch for Weston on the X6 bull High & Low. He rode him in Maple Creek last year and Weston has to be really excited about is matchup. Old grey bull, right in the gate to the left. Honest as the day is long. Looks like the one that you want, looks like Weston is the one that he wants as well. Weston has been in the States, and he’s been having some success at the Velocity Tour level and look for that to transpire into Lethbridge. Open up the outside foot, and have some fun, and show everyone what Weston Davidson is all about for an 85-86-point bull ride.

Nick Tetz vs. Irish Car Bomb

This is a red bull, should be right in the gate to the left. A lot of attitude. Another one of them that likes to clear the arena. But this should be a walk in the park for Nick. Into his hand, fits Nick’s style really well. I haven’t seen too much of this bull, but I have seen a few videos of him and this looks like its going to be an awesome matchup for Nick to be 85-86 points, set himself up good to come back in the short round, and try to win Lethbridge and get back on tour and get his season back to where he needs it to be, on the top side of things.
