The Morning Line – Lethbridge Round 1

LETHBRIDGE, Alta. – We have some really great matchups for the Lethbridge, Alberta, Cup Series event, and we’re going to be blowing the roof off ENMAX Centre like we always are. At the start of the year everyone is fresh, the bulls are fresh.

We’re rolling off the great momentum from Red Deer, and have some great matchups for Cody Coverchuk, Stefan Tonita, Jordan Hansen as some honorable mentions. But to get to it, the high scored ride of the round in my opinion are going to be these five matchups.

Tanner Eno vs. Black Mamba

Tanner has been a guy who has been out with injury, but he’s battled back. I am really excited to see him back in action. One of our top Canadian young guns, whose just had to deal with a lot of issues over the last couple of years and hopefully he’s gotten through that, and he’s back in the game, and we can see the Tanner Eno that we all know and love. The bull Black Mamba is a big, huge, black bull from Lazy P Bucking Bulls. One that the guys really like to get on. He’s got great timing, should be right in the gate to the right, into Tyler’s hand. His buddy Tyler Craig rode this bull at the PBR Canada National Finals for a really good score. Tanner will know everything about this bull, what he’s all about, should fit his style well. Look for an 86-87-point score to kick Tanner’s season off in the right direction.

Dakota Buttar vs. Hanna Motors Sure Shot

Our reigning Canadian Champion didn’t have the Red Deer that he wanted. Look for him to make it up here in Lethbridge on the bull that everyone knows. Most of the guys have been on him at this point, he’s been around for a long time, he’s had more trips than most bulls in Canada and is still as solid as the day is long, and one that you want to get on. Sure Shot from the Skori Ranch should be right in the gate to the left. Backing up underneath himself. Dakota should know everything about this bull. He’s got good timing as long as Dakota sits up, runs his knees up a little bit, doesn’t get pulled down over the front. This one is going to fit Dakota Buttar to a tee. Look for an 85-86-point score to set him up great for the weekend.

Chanse Switzer vs. Rust Bucket

This is a great matchup. Chanse really came on at the end of last year and started off Red Deer just like he left off last year. Really, really hot. Really strong. I have watched Chanse grow up since he was a little kid. I know the talent that he has and I think that he’s starting to believe that in himself now, and starting to have success at the highest level in Canada now like he should be doing. This is going to be a challenge for him. This bull is a really good bull, he has some different moves to him, has some different trips, but if you do things right, you can get a good score on him. Should be out one or two, then to the left into Chanse’s hand. If he sits up there, rides him and does what he’s supposed to do, this could be and 87-88-point bull ride to keep the momentum rolling for Switzer.

Jared Parsonage vs. Young Blood

Jared is a lot of the times in these picks, and for good reason. Jared is an NFR qualifier, one of the best that we have seen come out of Canada and anytime he matches up with a good bull like Young Blood, you should get a good score on the board. He’s a PBR Canada National Finals Qualifier bull, red bull with spike horns, who should be in the gate to the left. Should be no problem for Jared and one that he can get a good score on, 85-86 points to set himself up good for the weekend, get into the 5/5 Bucking Battle and take it to them in the average like Jared Parsonage does.

Nick Tetz vs. Lord Fear

Rematch for Nick Tetz on Lord Fear. They matched up for an 88-point ride last season. Look for that exact same thing to happen here. This bull has been getting stronger and better every trip that I’ve seen him. He really bucked in Red Deer, really bucked at the PBR Canada National Finals. He doesn’t have a set pattern, per say, but he’s big, really blows in the air. Sometimes he’s around to the right, sometimes around to the left, a lot of times he’s going to go both ways. It’s going to be action packed. In my opinion it should be the round win, anywhere from 88-90 points for Nick Tetz to kick Lethbridge off the right way.
